We operate a great system of Christian education, which includes three primary schools and one secondary institution. Our goal is to provide all our students with an excellent education that will prepare them for service in this life and for greater usefulness in the life to come; and we do so without regard for religious affiliation.

While it is our joy to educate the children of this nation, the cost of doing so is often overwhelming. At the Seventh-day Adventist academy, our secondary institution, it cost $3,917.40 per year to educate one child. Students pay less than half that cost per annum. This means, with the exception of seventy-two students recently sponsored by the government, we are subsidizing over fifty percent of the cost of education for every child who enrolls at the Academy.

At the lower forms (1 and 2) a child pays 390.00 per term. This adds up to $1,170 per year. The actual cost is $3,917.40. The actual cost that we subsidize is 2747.40. In forms three, four and five students pay $480.00 per term. That is $1440.00 per year. Again the actual cost per annum is $3917.40. The difference is $2477.40

Presently we have an enrolment of two hundred and fifty-one students at the Academy. Seventy-two are sponsored by the government which means we are subsidizing the education of one hundred and seventy-nine students for the current school year to the tune of approximately half a million dollars. This money does not come easily; and when one considers the development projects such as building a new plant to relocate the school, it is indeed overwhelming. But we move by faith and not by sight.
